About

OnceATeacherBlog serves as a tool for resources and more for teachers and students of English alike. Maybe teachers may find the content more useful, but at the same time my own students may find printable resources to accompany their lessons.

About me:

I received my CertTESOL accreditation from Trinity College in London in 2015 and since then I’ve been teaching on and off to students of different backgrounds and different learning needs, which has enabled me to be in a constant process of learning.

During my trainee days in London I was able to experience the unique multicultural environment the capital city offers, I taught students from different countries and cultures, which only enriched the starting point of my career as a teacher.

I received my BA in English Studies from Universidad de La Laguna (Tenerife) in 2016, the year in which I was also given the opportunity to be a teaching assistant at a public seconday school near the university campus. My degree’s final project was a case study of the use of Indian English in the novel English, August by Upamanyu Chaterjee from a sociolinguistic point of view. My love for literature and linguistics hasn’t decreased even though I’m working as a language teacher.

I’m currently working at a private academy in Tenerife, the majority of the students I teach are adults and teens preparing for the Cambridge FCE test. The rest of my students are children who’d like to receive a more dynamic and practical approach in learning the language.
